After a long day at work, or tacked onto a full day of sightseeing, this tour is a great way to catch a breath of fresh air and gain perspective on parts of the city that other tours bypass.
Photo opportunities are built into the tour, allowing gliders a chance to pause and photograph the gazebo overlooking Boathouse Row, the Azalea Garden, the famous Rocky steps and, of course, the shimmering city skyline.
Gliders are equipped with safety vests and helmets, complete with lights and headsets that permit play-by-play action describing historical Philadelphia landmarks and the beautiful outdoor destinations.
This is one of those rare tours in Philadelphia that offers tourists and Philadelphians, the opportunity to view Boathouse Row, the Fairmount Waterworks and the new Schuylkill Banks trail at sunset, just when all the city lights are flickering on. It makes for a romantic night on the town!
