Itinerary:

At 7:00 am, you will be greeted by your tour guide at the convenient meeting location in Manhattan. You will sign your liability waivers prior to boarding the coach. After departure, a light breakfast will be served on board the coach.

Start the day by exploring one of the greatest natural wonders of Pennsylvania, Crystal Cave. You will receive a guided underground tour learning about some of the amazing limestone formations and the historical and geological significance of the cave.

Next, you'll head to the oldest Amish community in America - Amish country in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Start with a lunch including traditional Amish dishes.

In the afternoon, you will step back in time and experience the life and heritage of the Amish. Learn about the daily life of a self-sufficient community that has remained true to its beliefs while the rest of the world has changed. Enjoy an educational guided tour through an 1840s Amish farm house, see a one room schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop, and farm animals typical for the Amish community. You will also have the opportunity of buying authentic Amish art, handicrafts and homemade jams and jellies.

The last activity for the day is when you get to experience how the Amish travel - in an original Amish buggy. Take a leisurely trip through the back roads of the Amish countryside and ride through a real non-commercial working Amish Farm.

A late afternoon departure means arrival back in NYC at approximately 8:00-8:30 pm.

What to Bring and Wear:

ID: Due to heightened national security, you must bring a valid government issued photo identification.

CLOTHES: Dress according to the weather. If the weather is hot you should still always bring a light jacket or a sweater, because the temperature in Crystal Cave is a constant 54 degrees.

WATER: In a plastic bottle, especially on hot days. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

CAMERA: With extra film/memory is highly recommended.

CASH: Although your tour is classified as "all inclusive," it is advisable to bring some cash for souvenirs and gratuity for the guide - which is left to your discretion.

AN OPEN MIND: Although this is a recreational/leisure tour, you will also learn about geology, history and learn about the lifestyle of the Amish people.
